A charming metamorphic bench table typical of the Victorian era. Circa 1860. These benches were originally used at pews or school tables within churches. The dark pitch pine bench sits on a sturdy cast iron frame which allows the bench to flip forward to create a suitable writing table top. Moulded into the cast iron frame is the makers names of Sidebotham & Co Patentees" and origin " Blackfriars St Manchester".
